Our Story

Our Story Our Story

Hey! My name is Blake and I am the cheeky chap who is the namesake for Blake’s Doggy Daycare. I am speaking to you beyond Rainbow Bridge, as unfortunately after nearly 14 delightful years, I left this realm in February 2025. However, I am still very much around!

I was a bouncy, hyperactive and happy dog. I was also a very good boy and put everyone under my spell as soon as they met me. I was known for my charming smile and spinning helicopter tail. I am told I am missed terribly, but I am so excited for the opening of Blake’s Doggy Daycare, where I shall live on forever!

The best years of my life were when I was by Louisa’s side every day, when she managed a previous Dog Daycare, so Louisa thought she would kindly honour my name by following her dream, which quickly became her partner’s dream too, of opening our own Doggy Daycare!

Since I have gone, Louisa and Lisa have such an abundance of love and care to give, and I know they are so eager to share that with all of your lovely fur babies. Get them started on their Blake’s Doggy Daycare journey here!

Louisa

Hello, my name’s Louisa and I am one of the owners of Blake’s Doggy Daycare. Dogs have always been my passion, ever since I was a little girl. I would always prefer to hang out with the dog at parties and gatherings, more so than the people! I have always been able to accurately read dog’s body language and quickly hop onto their wave length, so much so that people around me are 100% sure I was a dog in my past life!

My professional experience of working with dogs goes back to when I was the manager of a Doggy Daycare in Ilford, Essex. I absolutely loved my day to day life, spending time with the local dogs and helping build up the company, but there was always a little something missing. I’d have great ideas and want to make the Daycare even better, but it wasn’t mine! I didn’t have the freedom to explore all of these concepts.

Soon after leaving, I started to have a dream of opening my own local Dog Daycare, but like many others, I was heavily intimidated by the prospect of starting my own business. Could I really do it? I’d done it for another person’s Daycare, but would I be able to maintain my own?

After nearly 14 years with my bestest friend Blake, losing him was utterly gut wrenching. It literally felt like my heart had been chopped into two pieces and a big part of me left with Blake the moment he passed.

It made me realise how short and quick life really is, so what was I waiting for?

I wanted to follow my dream, coupled with the desire to honour Blake forever.

Thus, Blake’s Doggy Daycare was brought to life!

Louisa

Hi, I’m Lisa and I’m the other owner of Blake’s Doggy Daycare. I have to admit, I’ve not always been a dog person. When I met Louisa she made it very clear that, if I didn’t get on with Blake, I was out of there. Luckily for me, I fell in love with both of them. Since losing Blake, the urge to care and love for dogs has only increased. I quit my job as an events manager back in May 2025, and started looking after dogs at home in June 2025. Since then I’ve cared for multiple dogs, gaining 5 star reviews and star-sitter status.

I’ve always wanted a small business that I could call my own, and opening this daycare with Lou feels like a dream come true. I can’t wait to meet all the dogs and humans that we’ll be working with in the future.
